Paper Release Ceremony

What It Is

A symbolic act of letting go using the elements of fire or water.

Why It Helps

Our brains need closure. Physical gestures reinforce the decision to set something down.

What You Need

A safe outdoor space or bowl of water. If you can’t burn the paper, tear it up and soak it.

How to Do It

Write what you’re ready to release, speak it aloud, then burn or submerge the paper. Focus on your breath as you watch it transform.

This Is Not Worship

It mirrors therapeutic rituals and clinical closure exercises.

Variations

Pair with movement, humming, or a walk afterward.
